Objective:
 To understand about various techniques of computer forensic.
 To know working of forensic lab in evidence validation and use of computer software in that.
Company Profile:
The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) is a wing of the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, which fulfills the forensic requirements in the country. It houses the only DNA repository in South and Southeast Asia.
The Forensic Lab was established in 1974 and at that time there were three departments was established like physics, chemistry and biology, Later many more departments are added like computer forensic, micro biology etc.
This is the central wing of all labs of all Gujarat and any checking of dynamites parts and other chemical testing or forgery is done here.
Experience:
The experience was very good. The staff members were very supportive and we visited five departments for different testing and other knowledge is given by different departmental heads.
Learning from visit:
• Students learn about Narco test, different forgery detection in documents and cheques.
• Students also get knowledge about the process of evidence detection at FSL.
• We also learn about computer forensic like Hard disk data recovery, pen drive data and evidence recovery.
• We also get knowledge about fingerprint matching by experts of by computerized database.
• We also get knowledge about distillation on different evidence material by ESL Instruments.
• We also get the idea of IP spoofing and detection of hackers using different techniques.
