Mission

The mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to educate, prepare, and mentor students to graduate as professional and to grow throughout their careers in order to meet the competitive global market Utilize technology for the progress of mankind being frontier in teaching, engineering principles, research and development.

Course Objective

Mechanical engineering is a diverse subject that derives its breadth from the need to design and manufacture everything from small individual parts and devices (e.g., microscale sensors and inkjet printer nozzles) to large systems (e.g., spacecraft and machine tools). The role of a mechanical engineer is to take a product from an idea to the marketplace. So the educational objective of the Mechanical Engineering department is to produce the engineers who have:

  • A well-built foundation of mathematical, scientific and mechanical engineering knowledge and are equipped with problem solving and design, teamwork, and communication skills that will serve them throughout their careers.
  • The ability to work professionally in design, thermal and production areas.
  • Have the ability to successfully pursue advanced studies in mechanical engineering; in related technical areas and in other professional fields .
  • The ability to successfully pursue careers as practicing mechanical engineers in manufacturing industries, energy and utility companies, and engineering consulting firms .
  • Have the ability to master professional leadership roles.
  • An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Program at Noble engineering college will be prepared to contribute effectively as engineers in a diverse and multidisciplinary work environment.

    • Outcome I: Students will demonstrate the ability to apply principles of chemistry, physics, calculus, and advanced mathematics to solve problems in thermal-fluids and mechanical systems areas.
    • Outcome II: Students will demonstrate a familiarity with statistics and linear algebra in understanding and applying uncertainty analysis and solving systems of algebraic equations of problems with relevance to mechanical engineering.
    • Outcome III: Students will demonstrate the ability to work professionally in both thermal and mechanical systems areas including the design and realization of such systems.
    • Outcome IV: Students will demonstrate the ability to use contemporary methods and tools for (a) design of components and systems, (b) analysis, and (c) measurements, analysis and interpretation of data.
    • Outcome V: Students will demonstrate the ability to work in a diverse working environment, recognize the economic and societal contexts, and communicate effectively.
